At the YLCGA AGM on 16th November we were pleased to announce that Graci Wood from Malton & Norton GC was the winner of this year's Jean Rudgard memorial award for 2022-3 which is awarded to the best reduction in the 2nd Division with handicaps between 36.4 -18.5 at October 1st 2022.
Graci dropped 14.4 shots from 35.5 to 21.1 backed up by a very successful year at School, Club and County.
She will receive the £100 at next seasons Junior Championship on 14th July at Doncaster Golf Club
This fund was set up by the family of Jean Rudgard, to preserve her memory for the years to come
She was a member of Ganton Golf Club and Captain of Yorkshire Ladies County Golf Association in 1963. She was also President of YLCGA from 1976 to 1978.
Over many years she did much to promote Junior girls golf across the County. The fund provides an award for the most improved Junior golfer from the Bronze division who had reduced her handicap the most over the year
