A Selection Committee is appointed each year to choose the squad from which the County First Team is selected.
The Captain and Coach have assistance from previous Captains and other suitably qualified officials.
The County Team Squad is selected after the YLCGA Championship is held. Performance in that Championship is a major factor in selection but not the only one. Consideration is taken of individuals handicap, performance in major national and regional events and previous County Team experience.
The County Team plays in the Northern Counties Regional event to determine the Regional Qualifier to go forward to the English Women's County Finals.
The second friendly match of the season for the 1st team took place at Holme Hall GC vs the Lincolnshire 1st Team.

The format was 2 Matches of Singles and 3 Matches of Foursomes.
Amy Staveley winning 2&1 in the singles and the pairing of Becki O'Grady and Asitha Ashok running out 7 & 6 winners in the foursomes.
Despite losing the match 6 points to 4 it was a good test of golf for the members of our current 1st team, some new players and some more experienced and returning players

The first friendly match of the season proved to be a challenging one against the Men's Scratch Team of Huddersfield Golf Club
However despite the overall loss by the team there were some excellent performances from some very experienced golfers and some very young golfers.
Highlights from the morning included wins for Megan Lockett and Aaliyah Hryniewiecka-Irwin - winning 5 and 4
The afternoon singles brought further success for Aaliyah and also wins for Asitha Ashok, Becky O'Grady and a halved match for Megan Wileman
A great experience for the team and things look good for the coming season
