Jean Rudgard Award

This fund was set up by the family of Jean Rudgard, to preserve her memory for the years to come

She was a member of Ganton Golf Club and Captain of Yorkshire Ladies County Golf Association in 1963. She was also President of YLCGA from 1976 to 1978.

Over many years she did much to promote Junior girls golf across the County. The fund provides an award for the most improved Junior golfer from the Bronze division who had reduced her handicap the most over the year

A massive congratulations to Ruby for an excellent result her handicap has dropped from 24.3 to 9.3 a drop of 15 shots
Ruby started training with the YLCGA Coach Luke Allen in 2017 and has worked hard to eventually lower her handicap moving into the intermediate group with Gary Brown her game has continued to improve until eventually this Autumn she achieved selection for the England regional squad 2020/21.
This season has proved difficult for all but Ruby has continued to flourish thanks to her personal coach John Eyre. Ruby is lucky to have had great support at her home club Woodsome hall from the Ladies section in particular and would like to thank them.
